Things are going well! My husband is off oxygen and breathing well on his own. Today he had his first solid food, and is taking his medications orally instead of through the IVs. Really great progress. Though it is rather dismal to be in the hospital at Christmas, he has a very positive attitude.
By the way, Pyewacket is doing great, too. The cone came off on Monday and his paws are beautifully healed. He is back to his fun and happy self and enjoying a Christmas squeaky mouse from his friend Walter the Beagle. Pixie received two little roly-poly mice with bells, and Gwennie received pumpkin dog biscuits. Walter is a very generous doggie.
A white Christmas but very cold.
Happy Holidays! Take care!

Glad things are calming a bit. Wishing you the gift of peace and serenity moving forward.
Glad to hear that your husband is doing so well! And Pyewacket too, of course. I bet he'll never go near that stove again.
wishing you and yours all the best for the upcoming year. May you leave all your troubles far behind.
Mary
Such marvelous news!!! May the road to recovery continue to be smooth. {{hugs!}}
So sorry that your Hubby was in the hospital for Christmas. But the improvement he is showing will is worth it. Getting off the oxygen & IV are a huge sign of progress & I'm sure they will send him home ASAP. H I know you will all feel better once he is home & his recovery is going the way it should. At least this time there have been no complications or any of the problems you had with the first surgeon.
It is good news to hear that Pye is free from the Cone of Shame. Pixie must be happy to have her brother free to play with her again. I'm glad his paws healed up so quickly & no long term consequences. Hopefully, he will avoid going near the wood stove & no moths are around.
I hope the New Year finds your husband at home & continuing to recover. 2014 will definitely be a better year for your family now that this long medical ordeal will be over & you can start planning for the future.
Hey, i am glad to find you ( via Leeanna) - yesterday I bought a pendant that says "Merry Meet and Merry Part, and Merry Meet again" and then i come on here and there is that little saying again. I belong here !!! Lisa x
Great to read that Your husband is better :-)
Have a great day!
Christer.
It's all fun and games until somebody gets a cone... Glad to hear kitty and hubby are on the mend. Robin, wish we could share a cup of tea and have a long talk. Happy Holidays! (One of my Christmas gifts to myself "The Divine Circle of Ladies Digging the Dirt" - I've read them all now. How fun. Thanks for getting me started, they've been very entertaining.) Have a wonderful new year.
