What Have You Done for Our Mother Lately?

Recycle, of course. No littering, obviously. Adopted a shelter pet. Donated canned goods to a food bank. Prayed for peace. Grew an organic garden. Shopped for locally grown food at a farmer's market. Believed in climate change/global warming. Worried about endangered wildlife and habitats. Wrote a letter to a politician or the newspaper to voice an opinion. Appreciated a sunset. Planted a tree. Conserved natural resources................................................

This is a tiny list. There is so much we can do for our planet, this home of ours, this beautiful Mother Earth.  Talk about it. Walk the talk. Show by example. Get the word out....Our Mother needs us.

Wouldn't it be great if we all did just a few of these things on a regular basis??

Great post! Our Mother needs us each and every day. If we all can do just a portion of the items on the list, what a difference it would make and it would be setting a great example for the next generations to come.

I have done most of the things that you listed. We do need to care for our Mother Earth, or she will not be able to care for us~~~

Good reminder :) I try to do something every single day. If we don't take care of her now, there will be no mother earth to care for in the future. Everyone needs to do their share. I drove my son to work this morning and noticed that the litter gets worse and worse along the roads. So many have begun littering again and it's got to be stopped.

That was right on, Robin. It's time we stopped taking our Mother for granted.

I guess many of us do those things and still it feels it just isn´t enough. I can proudly say that I´ve started to take care of all the fruit and berries in my garden and surrounding area instead of buying from other countries :-)

Have a great day!
Christer.

I totally agree! Our family recycles like crazy. I'm proud to say that most of what we throw out is either easily decomposible or absolutley not possible to recycle. We also try to be responsible with what we throw out. We never throw out batteries or anything like that. We also have adopted pets from shelters only (except one which we got from a relative). We also use energy saving lightbulbs.

How very true indeed. We owe EVERYTHING we are to our Mother Earth. We humans as a whole neglect Her far too much. All we need do is make an effort to put more thought into what we can do for Her. Nuff said! ;)

Blessings to you always,

Kim

I was raised to take care of the earth and she will take care of you.

My dad knew there would be a silent spring before Rachel Carson did. We have always grown organic.

We respect the land and the animals upon it. We follow the old tradition of picking wild things, take one, leave two.

It would be nice if more people would respect our life giver more.
