Blessed Litha!

Whether you call it Litha, Midsummer, Summer Solstice, today is a special day for pagans. Beautiful long evenings to enjoy. How beautiful the summer days: the trees are in their full glory, flowers and gardens are growing, bursting into bloom, vegetables are thriving, birds are singing long and loud as they raise their families. Humans are feeling lighter, happier, stronger as the Sun shines down, beaming its golden radiance into all the dark corners.  How glorious our Earth!! Celebrate. Sing. Laugh. Play. Delight in as much of nature's beauty as you can. Blessed Litha to you and those you love!

Blessed Litha to you! One of the blessings of paganism is it's ability to refocus us, retune us to the vibrations of nature. It's a lovely day here - the sky is blue and the sun is enjoying it's power!!

I didn´t know it was called Litha!

Midsummer is one of the most important holidays You can find in Sweden. The church may have tried to celebrate John the baptist but we never took that to our hearts :-) :-)

Something that gives the result of a lot of children being born nine months from now :-) :-) :-) But we don´t celebrate midsummer until this friday. Children (and grown ups) dancing around the midsummer pole (and we all know what that symbolizes :-) :-) ) and after the dance we have midsummer dinner that always includes a lot of different pickled herring. I don´t know why swedes love pickled herring, I just can´t stand it :-) :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Christer, pickled herring, to me, sounds rather unpleasant. I am happy Sweden has such a rich midsummer celebration and history.

The news is on and I just saw all the pagans, Druids and hippies cavorting at Stonehenge this morning at dawn. Looks like everyone was having a good time!

Solstice blessings to you!

Happy Solstice to you, Robin. I've been at Stonehenge and still carry the memory. Here's hoping that you get the opportunity to do the same. Come visit when you can.
