Congratulations to the State of New York for becoming the sixth state to legalize same-sex marriage. Maybe more states will soon follow suit. Loving couples have the right to marry and to receive all the benefits of a legally recognized union. Marriage is a right, not a privilege for a select group. I am very happy for all the people who can now enjoy a happily married life.

Quite a celebration here in the city last night. I do believe that more states are to follow, but I heard on the news this morning that New Jersey's governor will fight it all the way.

I agree Robin. Liberty and justice for all!
Yeh, to the state of New York ;o)
Congratulations to New York! I feel a bit of disappointment in California that New york beat us to that, honestly. However I think a lot more states are going to start looking at jumping that particular hurdle, mainly because of New Yorks' no residency requirement. Cash flows for the weddings will be going to New York, but all the states are going to have to recognize the marriages. That's revenue lost and that might make politicians sit up and notice.
Until we become a people that doesn't live for the next tidbit of gossip to make ourselves feel better, just letting people live their lives will always be a problem for control freaks. I'm delighted this has passed but know the battle continues. Have a great day!
Great!
I do hope more states will follow now!
Have a great day!

Oh and on another note I've nominated you for an award on my Witchy Thrifting blog!
Woo hoo! I believe NY is the 6th U.S. state to pass same-sex marriage. So "just a few more" to go!
Hear, hear! Blessed be to that, my dear friends! I wish PA would get out the the Middle Ages (with a lot af issues actually) and follow suit like NY did! "Straight" or homesexual - love is love.
Perhaps someday! I hope!
Yay! So happy for NY!
I am super happy this happened just very sad that other states still feel the need to restrict the rights of their citizens. I wihs that my state would consider this but they already outlawed gay marriage. I guess that is the price I pay for living in a red state! Although there is nothign wrong with all Republicans! haha ;)
I second that motion!!! :0)
Isn't it truly wonderful that people, albeit slowly, are beginning to shed the chains that bind their hearts and minds? All love is pure love and I loved the way you phrased "Marriage is a right, not a privilege for a select group." Beautifully stated.
