Signs of the Season

How strange! When I sat down at my computer I found that the keyboard was all sticky, kind of slimy really. And there is a rather odd smell, sort of musty, a bit of a stinky reek actually. Geez, I don't know what could have happened. Very odd.

Anyway, it's a gloomy day here in the Syracuse area. Gray skies, threatening rain and coolish. Typical autumn weather. Makes the orange of the pumpkins really glow.  Those signs of the season are popping up everywhere. Don't you just love it?

Another sign of the season: Time for me to watch my favorite Halloween movie, "Hocus Pocus". I love this movie and only watch it in October. I have to wait and pick the perfect time to watch it, with my special snacks and of course wearing a favorite witchy sweatshirt. It is a ritual for me really, lol!!

There is still a lot to do though before I can sit down with my movie. Cleaning, baking and decorating. I am a little behind in my work since I am still going to physical therapy for my knee (which is getting better, day by day, thanks for all your sweet comments about that). I look forward to sharing a couple of things with you as the month continues. October is such a great month, isn't it? (I know, Christer, not so much in Sweden). I hope everyone is enjoying the activities and festivities. Don't forget to click on the button at the top of my sidebar to visit other blogs that are celebrating the Countdown to Halloween at the Whimsical Cottage. There are a lot of creative people out there. I have met some new witchy friends, too. It's magical!

Happy October 4th everyone.

Enjoy your movie! I have to hang my head in shame that I've never seen it. Bette Midler is one of my favorites. I will have to watch it this year.

I just love Hocus Pocus and like you love to set a mood to watch. I just love the ending when the boy (played by Probee on NCIS) and his little sister re unite in the spirit world...too cool. Our weather today is grey and overcast. But that's a given since it is Balloon Fiesta week here. 500 hot air balloons up in the air at one time is a sign of the season here.
I hope you have a wonderful 4th day of the countdown. Linda

I love "Hocus Pocus". I grew tired of trying to find it on TV so I bought me a copy this year. I'll watch it several times before Halloween along with Practical Magic And Sleepy Hollow.

I love Hocus Pocus too! How fun that you make such a ritual of it, I just of just watch it when the mood strikes. ;)

Glad to hear your knee is getting better and if you get tired of your clouds, well, the weather man didn't lie to me - it's 78 already and it's only 10:30! Send them my way.

I'll be watching Hocus Pocus this month as well. I've lost count of how many times I've seen it. It was one of our favorites when the grands were young. Some years we watched it at least once a week. I don't have a ritual just popcorn.

I've never seen the movie. It's something I will have to look for. I'm loving this weather. So glad I don't have to pack in all the heat of the summer. Will contact you on the books soon.

Love that movie also. I saw Bette many years ago in Manhattan in her Clams On The Halfshell show. Someone gave them to me and my hubby at the time. One of my favorites is Sleepy Hollow with Johnny Depp. Love it !

No not so much in Sweden :-) :-) :-)
I haven´t watched that movie but I think I saw it at the super market the last time I was there. Anything with Bette Midler is usually quite good :-)

Have a great day!
Christer.

Yes indeed, I too do really love the Autumn weather!

I particularly love to watch, "The Nightmare Before Christmas" mostly because of the music. I am such a sucker for musicals.

Blessings,

Kim

Moon was low to mother earth last night, becoming full to a beautiful harvest moon. The farmers are in their fields late now.

I have not seen this movie, but sounds great. I like the old horror flicks and am hoping to pop a few in soon!

Enjoy your movie!

HOCUS POCUS!!! Love it! I had such a crush on Thackery Binx.. as the boy, not the cat, haha! I saw Linda's comment and looked him up on NCIS and judging just from the stills, I'm not sure I would have recognized him, weird!! Anyway, yay for the season!
