Kittens, Hobbits and Alberta Dwarf

A bright sunny Friday. Kittens are running around the house enraptured with the big bags of wreaths, garlands and other holiday accoutrement that I have brought home from the stores. My husband says not to buy these kittens any more toys...just bags and boxes, crumpled paper and twisty ties.

Speaking of kittens, my poor neglected blog, PurrrrSnicKitty, has been sitting alone and unloved for a while. I apologize to my kittens and my readers. Part of the fault lies with the kittens, though. I have been unable to get any good photos lately. I don't want to post without photos. I will make a concerted effort over the next few days, honestly. They are thriving, silly, funny, sweet; a real joy.

I am wondering how many "Hobbit" fans are out there? The new movie opens on December 14th here, and though I won't attempt to face the crowds for the first week or so, I am thrilled to be planning on seeing it. I spent many a happy hour reading The Hobbit in my youth. I loved Bilbo Baggins. In fact, when I started reading  the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy I was very upset that Bilbo wasn't the main character. Frodo? No!!! I want Bilbo!  Of course that changed and I do still believe that "Frodo Lives!"

Well, naturally the weekend will be fraught with countless tasks including putting lights on our 5 dwarf Alberta spruce trees in front of the house. Yes, little Alberta will be spruced up with lights, Christer!

Have a fabulous weekend, won't you?!! Be safe out there!

I started to laugh as soon as I saw the headline :-) :-) :-)

I'm a Bilbo fan :-) But I read that book after reading the lord of the rings, otherwise I'm pretty sure I would have felt like You.

Have a great day!
Christer.

I had the opposite experience to you -- I read LOTR first and The Hobbit later. I was disappointed that Frodo wasn't the hero of The Hobbit. Who the hell is this Bilbo Baggins, I wanted to know.

I love that you have 5 little pieces of ALBERTA on your front lawn!

Well of course your hubby is right....the best things in a cat's play life are "things" not toys. So glad that you are enjoying them so much. But then what's not to enjoy. Even our old bunch here make the holidays interesting with their personal rearranging of the decorations.
And hurray for you decorating and such. Hope your weekend is filled with kitty tricks and warm fuzzies for you. Oma Linda

I've never read any of them but perhaps I should?

Sounds like you have a weekend of creating in store...have fun! We have snow moving in here although I don't know if it will accumulate.
It's nippy out there with the dampness, and cloudy but I'm inside doing 'stuff', lol, so I don't mind.

Have Fun Holidaying!!! :)

No pictures needed, Robin, I can envision those rascals having the time of their life with all the fun, new "stuff" around. Have a wonderful weekend. I don't even have a tree yet! I think this weekend will include a search for a small, simple one. I'm slowly getting decorations out (altho I'm sure a box is missing!). Kittens and Christmas are a fun mix. Ann
