Not much better today

Another rough day, and a couple of procedures. Good news is there is no infection.
His lungs were impacted by the  excess fluids in his stomach from the surgery, which therefore impacts his heart rate. He has more tubes and wires and cables then I have ever seen. So many machines blinking or beeping.
Pain levels still high even with the morphine.

He tries to smile in between the grimaces and groans and worries about me getting tired. His voice is so hoarse from the tube in his throat, but still tries to make a corny joke now and then.

Keeping fingers crossed for a better day tomorrow.

You also need to remember to look after yourself my girl! You'll be no good to him if you don't get some rest. My brother had major surgery a few years back. He also got worse before he got better, seems to be the norm. Please look after yourself:-)

Thank you for the update. I know you are worried and tired. I also believe that your hubby will continue to recover and be well again. It is a matter of time. That is the hardest part.
Wrapping you both in a blanket of love and hugs, Oma Linda

YONKS is right- you need to be rested so when he comes home and is 100% in your care you'll be able to manage. An ill caregiver is not good. Rest every minute he's asleep just like with infants. Prayers still going out.... <3

It sounds like the worst is over & it is the best news that he did not have a secondary infection. Now that the fluid has been drained, your husband should start healing & feel much better by early next week. Hang in there & take care of yourself as best you can.

Oh Robin - poor thing. Get as much rest as you can. It does seem that things are looking up with no infection, but you're tired so it's hard to be hopeful (so we'll do it for you!!:)
