Curious, but also Significant

Rain fell most of the day and when it was not raining, it was cloudy, drippy, misty. The garden was active, though with birds, voles, a large rabbit, squirrels and green shoots pushing up from the awakening earth.

While my husband was napping on this quiet, gray day, I took the opportunity to enjoy a music meditation. There are three types of meditations I practice; meditating in silence and alone, which opportunity does not present itself too often; candle meditation on esbats (full moon observance), for specific purposes, for communing with the God and the Goddess; and my music meditation where I put my headphones on and play some of my favorite celtic cds. I have special selections for various applications, and sometimes just for a few minutes of relaxation.

Anyway, having said all that, let me tell you what happened this afternoon.

I was listening to some beautiful music from my Scottish Moors cd and spent a lovely 30 minutes drifting through the Unseen world, breathing slowly, focusing on healing and peace. The last 10 minutes or so, I felt a strong energy surrounding me, and began using my hands and arms in harmony with the music, drawing in the energy, pulling it toward me. It was a beautiful experience and I strongly felt the presence of Deity.

When the meditation ended, I plucked off the headphones and got up from my glider/rocker and headed for the kitchen for something to drink. This was less than 60 seconds after my meditation. My son Nick called to me just a few feet away. "Mom, look what is in the garden!" I turned around and looked through the glass doors.

A beautiful hawk was walking in the garden. Walking! I have never seen a hawk walking before. Usually soaring or sitting in a tree or on the fence.

We watched him stroll around for a few seconds, obviously drawn to the garden by the various creatures that had been busy throughout the day.

Suddenly he ran around the small arborvitae in the garden. Completely circled it once, then twice, then thrice in a widdershins movement (counterclockwise). We were amazed at this sight. Goosebumps rising.

The hawk then flew up to the fence, sat for a few minutes fluffing his feathers, fanning his tail and then launched himself toward the sky.

I found this curious, but also significant. Coincidence?  I shall reflect on this event.  It actually was quite wonderful.

That is fantastic! The hawk is my power/totem animal. I wonder if this could be yours too? Nonetheless, what a beautiful, powerful visitor you had to your garden!

Amazing! I don't think I've ever seen a hawk walking either -- only soaring or perched high up.

Oh, wow! That sounds otherworldly actually. We have hawks around here, too, and I've never seen one taking a stroll. :p

It must have been your totem for the day.

A hawk coming to you and your family is truly a magical sign for all of you! Especially, when he was walking. Something out of the ordinary, something special, just for you and your son to see! Amazing!

I wonder if you'd drawn the hawk to you? Meditation can be a very powerful thing. I've never seen one in my garden - ever!xx

That hawk surely came by to show you and your son his incredible presence and ability to be both part of life on the ground and life above where he can soar to the heights. Now you, your husband and family have that ability too (well, you know what I mean, I hope). This made me shiver. Ann
