Off-Planet?

It must seem like I have fallen off the face of the earth, but no...still here!

Yes, it is so good to have that husband of mine home, though now the work is a little tougher as I am doing all that fetching, carrying, feeding, dispensing, helping, etc. Some days I feel a little dizzy, to be honest!!

He does have a Visiting Nurse three days a week to check progress on the rather large and impressive canyon in his abdomen, as well as the two other sites involved. He changes his dressings himself the other times with my assistance, though I do keep my eyes closed during part of that process.

We were sad Syracuse lost their game, but secretly I was relieved as hubby didn't expend a lot of energy with all the cheering (since there were not many opportunities for cheering).

Pleasant weather has been around which helps the spirits, and we actually have daffodils budding up and the noise of birds in the throes of spring "activities", ahem.

Kittens are doing great, growing well and are so endearing. Dogs are thrilled Dad is home, though Lexie has to be curtailed in her joy, as she has a big tail and the desire to get as close as possible to him.

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods, and we thank you again, most sincerely for your kind and lovely comments. I have the very best followers EVER!

Bright blessings from Robin!

So glad Spring is coming and it's getting a little easier. Life will be back to normal before you know it, but make sure you take time for YOU...replenish yourself, body & spirit.

It is a joy to hear that you are well, both of you. I know being caregiver is extra hard since you have others to care for as well.
Please don't think that I have ever ceased sending healing and loving thoughts your way, just because I haven't bugged you. I just wanted to give you space but I must tell you that I have missed your presence here. Much love, Oma Linda

This is all so good to hear, Robin. You are now on nurse duty and that can be very trying, but you can do it! Is his wound an open wound? Those can be quite daunting to care for and I'm glad a nurse comes a few times a week regardless. My daughter had open wounds after two separate surgeries and I can say without hesitation now that nothing phases me anymore! Hope your husband's recovery continues on the upswing and you take care of yourself too! Ann

You've both been through such an ordeal -- I hope your husband's recovery is swift, smooth and problem-free from here onwards!

I'm so glad your hubby is home! Being the caregiver can wear you out so make sure to do something for yourself...no matter how 'small'...every day; it will help keep you going.

Sending warm thoughts and lighting a candle daily.

Oh I'm doing the happy dance Robin!!! :) This is great news for sure. I bet you are one outstanding nurse but do take some me time too if at all possible. even if it is a short nap or bubble bath or a quick walk around the block. We can't have you wearing down either? It is soooo good to see you back and keeping us informed and up to date...You have really been missed Ladybug! :)
Continued speedy healing to Hubby and prayers for the same!
Loving You...

YAY! Glad to hear things are coming along, albeit slowly. May he heal in time and never have another turn! Love your description of the birds in the throes of spring time activities. *ahem* You slay me!

Happy Spring!

Thanks for the update. It is hard to blog with a husband 'under foot.' I am sure you take good care of him - please take care of you, too.
