Belated Blessings of Ostara! And Happy Spring!

source
The Spring Equinox on March 20th is a sacred day for Wiccans. Celebrating the lengthening days and new beginnings. A joyful time. Fresh starts for Nature and Humans alike.

Of course, as the image above demonstrates, in my neck of the woods we are still in the grips of chill, ice, snow and gray, morose skies. It's okay, though, that is how the Turning of the Wheel works, slow and steady.

Over the last few days, the sky and bare-limbed trees are filling with returning wild birds. Red-winged blackbirds, grackles and my sweet robins. Wonderful signs of spring, at least for me! Winter's silence can be quite deafening at times.

A medical update on my husband. His surgery is scheduled for April 4th at which time the surgeons will make a concerted effort to find and close fistulas that have formed in the intestinal track, as well as "re-routing" the colon. It will be a difficult surgery, but it should be the solution for all these months of suffering. So mote it be.

Another short post, but more will be forthcoming!

Cheers to all and bright blessings from Robin.

So mote it be.....indeed.
I can't believe just how much snow and cold your neck of the woods has sustained this winter. Yikes. I've volunteered everytime a storm comes through here for us to take the snow for the east coast but Mother Nature has ignored my pleas.
Do know you are never far from my mind. xoxo Oma Linda

Happy Spring, Robin! I gathered with a few friends for lunch on the 20th and we stopped and toasted each other and the season. It was a sunny, warm day and we enjoyed our meal out on the patio. (As far as I know, none of us are wiccans, just women who love the earth and the seasons and each other.) Best of luck to your husband - may his medical team correct his problems and help him to heal. I hope only the best for you & yours.

We have 9000 cranes here now and more is on their way. Lots of other migrating birds have also returned and the first bird I cann hear singing and the last one when darkness comes is the Black bird. I love hearing that song and we Swedes have chosen it to be our national bird :-)

I do hope this surgery will take care of all the problems!

Take care and have a great day!
Christer.

I saw our first robin about a month ago. And since then many more have come and I am hearing more and more songbirds every day. But the poor things have had to endure extreme weather patterns - 60s to 20s in a day's time. But with the lengthening daylight, I know warmer days are ahead.
Will be keeping you & your Hubby in my thoughts and prayers! ♥

Happy Ostara! We too are still under 7 foot snowbanks, cold, windy, the list goes on. I am keeping my fingers crossed for your husband. May this time be the final one!
