Moon Light

Last night, cooking dinner, I was feeling cranky. Sometimes I just get so tired of cooking dinners night after night. Kind of get in a humdrum rut of meals. So I put a pot of potatoes onto boil, and banged the frying pan to brown some ham steaks and stomped around in general.

And then......I caught a glimpse out my kitchen window. It was very dark and there She was. A glorious Full Moon, close and large, just rising. Right outside my window. It was eye-opening. I watched that glowing, bright white orb, the Moon of Many Names. Snow Moon, Quickening Moon, Hunger Moon, Wolf Moon, just to name a few. (Each month's Full Moon has its own qualities and significance, and depending on tradition, background or culture, can be called many different names.)

For me it was Transforming Moon. My grumpy mood fell away, my spirit was lifted and I continued my tasks in a cheerful way. I reminded myself of the beauty and wonder of the Universe, of how each moment is a gift, to live in gladness of the moment and to be thankful and inspired by what the Full Moon represents: the  Light, Love, and Guidance and Protection of the Goddess in all Her many ways.

I also saw that moon out my bedroom window as I was writing last night. Gorgeous! And yes, very inspirational ;] !

I know exactly how you felt! I am blessed with having Her rise in my kitchen window and last night's show was a feast for my eyes. As I cooked, washed up and then made lunches, I was watching her rise with each task I did. And I was happier for it!

I think it might be catchy. When I was working I would take one Saturday and shop and cook for the next two weeks. Then, when I retired I started to love cooking. I was able to create recipes and foods only dreamed of when I was cooking 14 meals at once. Now, I'm tired of it. Day in, day out, slaving over the stove. LOL!!! I realized then that I had gotten back into one of my ruts where I cooked the same things over and over. So, I've decided to stir things up a little and get back the way I used to cook, many years ago. I took a culinary course for catering and loved serving hubby foods from all the different countries. This is what I've been doing lately and I'm loving cooking.

I missed the moon last night. My windows look out onto a small courtyard surrounded by our building. So, if I don't look out and up at the right time, I miss it.

I too had a lovely moment with the moon. Woke up from a troubling dream, looked out the window and there she was. She smiled at me and I went back to sleep feel much the same as you described. Filled with moonlight.

A full moon has always had a similar effect on me; opening me to a more positive way. =)

So that's why I've been sleeping so bad lately! It has been cloudy for so long that I forgot about the full moon.

Have a great day!
Christer.
