Obviously the warmer temperatures, fireflies at night, trees in full green regalia and kids running through sprinklers are some of the signs of the season.
Here are a few more:
Strawberries are in season here in Central New York. "U-Pick" Strawberry signs are popping up all over.
Oh, boy! Farmers Markets are opening all around! Every week something new is on display.
That screaming you hear is likely due to the fact that the school bell has rung for the last time this year.
And now the kiddies are heading off to enjoy swimming, canoeing,
Also the smell of barbeques being fired up all over the neighborhood, after-dinner runs to the ice cream shop or perhaps the scintillating sounds of the blender whipping up strawberry daiquiris to sip on the deck.
Savoring summer is a joyful occupation.
And for Wiccans, it is a time to celebrate the full and glorious return of Light, the flourishing of all Nature and the opportunity to honor the Goddess and the God in their aspects of full health and vivid life.

Looks like you are well prepared to enjoy Litha and all the splendors of the season, Robin! It's hard to believe that very soon the days will be getting shorter again!
Mmmm, a strawberry daiquiri would be nice right about now. I know it's only 7:00 a.m. -- what's your point?
I love that bright and warm feeling that says that everything is alive. I haven't seen any signs for strawberries yet, but Nature is definitely singing of Midsummer!
Now I want fresh strawberries...
Fun posting! I'm not a big fan of Summer (hate heat & humidity), but you reminded me of the things I do love about it!
I just love Litha!! Such a great time of year to celebrate midsummer! Bonfires shall be lit, calendula shall be picked and we shall make merry! Blessed Litha to you Robin!
Those strawberries and vegetables look delicious!
... I saw the daiquiri and forgot what I was going to say... ;)
Isn't it wonderful? I love everything about summer...except for the humidity.
Mary
We've finally caught up with You it seems :-) Strawberries are ripe and school ends for summer. But I doubt that any kids here run through sprinklers, they would freeze to death I'm afraid :-) :-) :-)
Have a great day!
Christer.
Everything is coming alive! What a wonderful feeling! Fresh strawberries, yummy! Farmers Markets, excellent! Having a nice daiquiri, sweet ;o) Want to come over for a barbeque? I will see if Kim can come too ;o) Hugs ;o)
