Gliding

A good soaking rain today for which I say "Thanks". Such hot weather again over the last few days and the trees, shrubs, gardens are drooping a bit. Humans and dogs drooping too. Can you say "Ice cream, please"?

Last night, as the weather changed, a beautiful glide on our porch swing. A buoyant breeze passed through the garden. Sighing in relief, we swung and watched the fireflies bouncing in the wind, enjoyed the ker-roaking of frogs from a nearby pond and were blessedly free of mosquitos, thanks to the breezy-ness.

Simple pleasures provided by Nature are often the most profound.

I love your ending thought here and so true Robin! "The gods write their gospel on the rain, wind, trees, flowers and clouds and stars." ~ Author unknown
Enjoy the fine cool wet weather. ♡

I absolutely love those swings. Do you know that it was in one of those swings that I got my first kiss?

We've rain headed this way as well. Seems like we rarely have a sunny day anymore, but ice cream still tastes pretty darned good.

No mosquitos - that borders on the miraculous. Enjoy the rain. All we got last night was wind and thunder, nice - but I was hoping for rain.

I love cooler rather than warmer days myself. Mosquito free is always a bonus too! This morning we awoke to a brisk 3 degrees (37 degrees F). It was a chilly, finger numbing cold!! Your evening glide sounds blissful!

I miss the fireflies of summer...
Enjoy the moisture. And the reprieve from the heat. Colorado is in drought conditions and could REALLY use the moisture!

A bit too much rain over here. The mosquitoes has been around for some time but the last rainfall woke up the forest flies. Soon the horse flies will come and this year I'm afraid we'll have plenty of them.

Have a great day!
Christer.

We're so very dry here, even the mosquitos are waiting for a rain puddle.
Your evening sounds lovely and the best part for me would be the fireflies. When I was a youngster we would spend part of the summer in Tenn. and the fireflies were always the best part of a summer evening, next to watermelon or hand cranked fresh peach ice cream. XOXO Oma Linda

Robin, this was us last night too! We got heavy rains in the afternoon. Mom and I went outside, because it looked like one of our trees infront snapped from the winds and it did ;o( It was an old tree. But, when we went outside, we couldn't believe how cool it had gotten! All the windows in the house were opened up! I had so much energy! LOL! It was a gorgeous night ;o)
