Checking In

Greetings! Sunday morning and a quick post to catch up on what's going on with us. My husband has had a very long, rough week, two surgeries, lots of pain and just plain all-round discomfort. As of this morning, he had his first solid food in more than ten days. He loved those scrambled eggs! The pain level is almost zero and the doctor is expecting to send him home tomorrow. He is facing a major surgery, probably in the next 4 to 6 weeks, which will hopefully permanently fix this problem. It won't be pleasant and I won't go into details at this time. Suffice it to say it will require 10 days or more in the hospital, and a 6-week convalescence at home.  But for now I am so happy he is not having pain.

On the homefront, well, I have not been home much. So when I am here, I lavish attention on the dogs and kittens, talk to the canary and then try to sleep. I have managed some meditation time, and some spell work for healing, but that is about it.

Weather has been frigid and snowy, but today and the next few days are predicted to be a January thaw type condition, temps in the 40's. I will take it as it is a pain going downtown Syracuse in slippery weather.

I have missed reading blogs, commenting and posting, but hopefully things will calm down when my honey bunny comes home. Hope all is well with everyone. Be happy and healthy and safe.

Love and hugs from Robin.

At least he's going to be better even if it takes one more surgery. It sure sounds tough but I hope he will recover quickly!

Have a great day!
Christer.

Sending your husband well deserved healing energy! Sending you well deserved healing energy as well. Its not easy when a loved one goes through a rough patch, but good thing he is not in any pain now. Hopefully the next bout of surgery will sort this out once and for all. Take care, drop by when you can and please take time for yourself. Its hard to do, I know, but you need to be healthy and strong to take care of your husband! xoxoxoxox

So good to hear from you! I have been SO WORRIED!
As long as your dear Hubby will not be plagued by this malady any more, will be worth the days in the hospital & the convalescing at home. Though I am sure that the Kittens and the Puppies will assist you. Be sure to take some time for yourself throughout all of this!
Do not over do!!! And do not be afraid to ask for help from those around you. I know they will gladly lend a hand.
Know that all of you are constantly in my thoughts and I am sending healing energy your way. ♥

So glad to hear that your DH is coming home to recover. He will recover much faster in his own bed & build up his strength for the (hopefully) final surgery. Take good care of yourself during this stressful time as caregivers tends to ignore even their most basic needs which is no good for anyone. I hope your DH continues to do well and that all will be well after the final surgery. Eating extra protein helps healing because the body burns many calories healing from the infection and the surgery. Zinc also aids in healing. Take care.

Oh Robin, I am so sorry to hear about your wonderful husband. What a terrible thing to be going through. I am so grateful that the upcoming surgery, though intense and long healing, will improve his pain levels and hopefully contain the problem. I know this has been as hard on you as him so please take care of yourself. Know that my candle will burn for you and your family this eve. Warmest hugs, Mina

Robin, I am so glad to read this update. I've been away from the computer a lot lately and it was good to log on today and see your husband is feeling better. I am sorry he faces more surgery and discomfort in the future, but the end result will be worth it I am sure. It's a tricky, painful condition and he will need all the recoup time possible. Here's hoping the best for the both of you in the upcoming months. Ann

I hope everything get better. Be strong and hang in there!

Also, I was trying to find some information on the Book of Shadows. Any suggestions? What do you know about the Book of Shadows? My friend showed me his app he created. Check it out and let me know what you think?

Thanks again.
