Update

Happy New Year! Hope everyone enjoyed a safe New Year's Eve.

My husband had emergency surgery last night. He is doing better today, but is scheduled for more surgery tomorrow morning. This is all related to the same thing he was in the hospital for in March. Diverticulitis with abscess and now perforation. He is in better spirits today simply because the worst of the pain has been alleviated.

Thank you for your supportive comments, of which I have passed along to him.

Keeping a positive attitude is easier with blog friends like you.

Oh, I'm so sorry you and he have to go through this - I'm glad he is out of surgery and on the road to healing, though. My thoughts are with you both!

Robin, I am so sorry I have not been online much and missed your latest posts. Glad I caught this one and that your husband is feeling some relief. I know this is a painful thing, but that it is one that can be bounced back from. So sorry he had to deal with this, but hopefully now he can be on the road to recovery. Keeping him and you in my thoughts. Ann

Hopefully this is your only 2013frog. From the expression "Eat a frog first thing every morning, that way the worst will be behind you and the rest of your day (year) will be so much better." Thinking of you.

Oh dear, perforation is not good but glad it got caught right away and corrected! No wonder he wasn't feeling well. Diverticulosis is a real bitch at the best of times. Wishing him a speedy recovery!

Shoot Robin!!! I am so happy your hubby got in there in time! He must have been in so much pain! My friend, I think I told you before, my mom has diverticulitis. She has had two operations, where they removed part of her intestines. If you ever need to talk to her, she is here for you! Me too!!! Mom and I are sending healing thoughts!! (Please, when he gets home, every week, have some honey! Honey is a healer! Don't ever stop!)

That sounds nasty! I do hope that next surgery is the last he will need and that he will recover fast after that!

Oh Robin! *hugs* to you and your husband! My dad suffers from that and I know too well how one can suffer. Keeping fingers crossed that all things get sorted and he's back to baseline quick!

So scary! Sorry it took me so long to find this and I hope that he's doing much better by this time.

Lighting a candle for both of you.

I want you to know I am thinking of you and holding you and your husband in the flame of today's devotional candle.
My husband had a similar complicated diverticulitis problem and was hospitalized for 5 weeks right after we were married. It was all resolved and now it is just one more of the experiences that became the cement in our marriage.
Best thoughts to you both! Don't rush, it takes as long as it takes and not a minute less.
