Blurbs

Heavy snow today.

Experiencing withdrawals from lack of newspaper four days a week.

Bought myself cheery orangey-yellow roses yesterday.

Enjoyed the dvd, "Premium Rush", lots of exciting bicycle riding through NYC.

Read a fabulous novel, "The Winter Witch" by Paula Brackston. Highly recommend this well-written story about a young, mute woman with magickal powers.

The skeleton of King Richard III was identified, solving the 500 year old mystery of where his body was buried. His skull had many wounds inflicted by blades. Gruesome, yes, but still interesting.

Chip Ahoys taste really good when dunked in hot coffee.

The kittens love Friskies salmon and beef. Gaah, what a combination.

Life is so exciting, isn't it?

The Richard III story fascinates me. They confirmed his identity through DNA testing on a Canadian descendant. He's a carpenter in Ontario. Just goes to show -- you never know who your ancestors are, LOL!

We have an adult friend, Andy, who was raised by Hari Krishna parents. The outlook of that practice is the only one he has ever known.

He felt he could not feed the cats he was watching beef cat food because in nature, a cat could never catch a cow.
He felt the same for tuna (deep sea). He fed the salmon (a possibility for a pretty big cat and an old salmon) and chicken cans of food left for the pets, then went shopping to MAKE them food for the rest of the week!
That began us thinking... why is there no cat food flavored like robin, mouse, moth?
Your comment about salmon/beef being icky reminded me of wonderful Andy the cat feeding neighbor!

sounds like you have been busy. And in interesting ways. I discovered my aging cat won't eat pate can food but will eat the slivery stuff. He has always been a dry cat food kitty until now. Ick.
Hope you can get into the non paper swing soon.....it's hard though, I still miss it.

I, too, have always been fascinated by Richard III...if you've never read it, The Daughter of Time is an excellent exploration of the tale of Richard III and the Princes in the Tower. Fictional, written in the '40's, but extremely well-researched. I, for one, don't believe he did it.

We saw the TV programme about the search for Richard 111 and it was amazing! Did you know it was buried under the letter 'R' in the car park and the lady who led the hunt had a feeling he was actually under that very spot...and he was? What a story!xx

Sometimes excitement is overrated; peace can be a precious gift. Wishing you a lovely day!

teddy eats a combo of home cooked salmon or tuna, beef, liver and chicken or veal each day. ugh to me but she loved it all mixed together. and if i occasionally add some sardines in to the mix, even better!

The snow was wonderful, while it lasted, although it did keep us from our shop and now we are in panic mode to catch up! Richard III is indeed a fascinating discovery, love the way that Phillips never lost faith and found the exact spot with a kind of magical experience of just knowing it was there. Those cats of yours are so cute! Minerva ~

I think I need to get myself some flowers too. Cheers a place up this time of year.

Interesting about Richard III!

The only food my cats eat, they refuse anything else, is Friskis dry food :-) The flavor isnä't that important even if they prefer not to have fish tasting food :-)

4 inches of snow last night and now more is falling from the sky, not especially cold though.

Yes Richard 111 is an interesting person but how much is true about what we think we know about him?

Have a great day!
Christer.

The Richard lll discovery was very intriguing - hard to believe that in the end he was under a parking lot of all things! The reconstruction of what he likely looked like is also fascinating.

The discovery of Richard III is amazing. I hope there will be a book/documentary/film made about the process of discovery and more insight into his life. Beautiful snow picture. Have I mentioned ever that I cannot function properly without reading the newspaper every morning. Tried the virtual version and I was lost and out of sorts.

I've been wondering about that movie - will check it out now that I've heard a positive review about it!

Look at all that snow. They're predicting some snow here on Friday. Personally, I will believe it when I see it.

I live on the prairie. We have had two mild Winters in a row. This delights me so much that it's almost comical. Now I've tempted karma. I predict a blizzard for the heartland before Spring.

And coffee with chips ahoy? Only thing better is coffee with cream in it and an oreo.

I'm reading The Witches Daughter by Paula Brackston and can't put it down...I plan on reading all of her books! She's a great author/writer!!! The Winter Witch looks sooo good! :)
We got a weakened version of the Noreaster you all got, not much here..a few inches. They predicted more but it fizzled out.
Now tonight or should I see early morning hours we are to get more...we shall see. My Sister in Maine says she has about a foot and a half right now and it's still coming down. That's a lot of snow but with such droughts we really need the precip, you know?
I am a direct descendant of the Plantagenet Line...I'm not sure how exactly I am related to Richard III but I am. How cool is that? His father is my 17th or 18th Great Grandfather. I can't remember which right at the moment.
I am very intrigued with the whole thing.
I hope this finds you well and know that I adore you Sister Soul!
(those cookies and coffe sound yummy! Ha!)
