Here We Go Again

Today, my husband is having another major surgery. Things have just not gone well with his recovery, and there is new inflammation and fluid. I have been advised he may be in Intensive Care (ICU) for a couple of days after surgery on a ventilator. His lungs have not been faring well.

Positive attitudes all the way around, and embracing all the healing light and energy that I know you are all sending.

May this operation do the trick and speed him on the road to recovery! Thinking of you and him often each day -- big hugs from me and HRH too.

Poor man! It's bad enough to go through one of them!

Good that they place him on ventilator so his lungs can recover easier.

Lots of positive thoughts and prayers!
Christer.

So sorry that you both can't seem to get a break, but hopefully this will get to the cause of most of the problems. I had the same sort of issues from a few surgeries the past few months and was on a ventilator in CCU for several days. I really credit the CCU nurses for getting me better. I cannot say enough about their caring & specialized trainng. i was sedated for the few days I was on the ventilator, but it let my body rest and start to heal without my lungs constantly in overdrive trying to get enough oxygen to my body. So I hope you are not scared at the prosect of your husband possibly going CCU nurses only have a few patients to attend to they will make sure he is getting everything he needs immediately.
Hospitals & doctor can be a bit intimadating to some people, but if you think there is something being done or not done that you think your husband needs, you have to be assertive to get what you want. Thi is especially true when complications arise. If you think a second opinion or a consult with a specialist would be helpful, hyou have a right to request it.
Be strong and have faith that things will improve after this surgery.

Robin, I've been offline for a bit and glad I logged on today to see how you and hubby are doing. I know this is ultra stressful, but he's in good hands and there are lots of people thinking good, positive and powerful thoughts to guide these docs and his recovery. Big hug to you. Ann
