Hidey-ho

Been a bit of a hermit the last few days. Not on the computer, but for a few minutes here and there. My husband has been feeling poorly and trying to hang on until Tuesday March 12th for his surgery. It's hard to watch a loved one in so much discomfort. But soon that will all be taken care of!

It was sunny and up to 35 degrees F today which made Spring seem very real and close. That Spring feeling can be almost overwhelming, but keeping feet firmly on the ground as we are sure to have more winter. Still, the giddiness of it was pleasant.

I have been re-reading my beloved book series by Diana Gabaldon. Book One is called Outlander and there are currently 7 books total in the series. They are all hefty tomes and so compelling that once I begin a book, I am engrossed for hours. An Englishwoman in 1945 accidentally steps through mysterious stones in Scotland and ends up in the 18th century.  She meets a Scottish Highlander and thus begins the most intriguing, breath-taking, romantic, thrilling saga I have ever read. The characters are brought to vivid life amidst the surroundings of battles, hardship, betrayal and a time-spanning love of mythic proportions. Wow, does that sound too purple-prosed?  The eighth and possibly final book will be coming out sometime later this year. I have been waiting for over three years since Book 7 came out. So I am re-reading the entire series to be fully refreshed in the events and characters. It is a labor of love. (most of the books are over a 1,000 pages each.)

All for now, but back very soon! Bright blessings.

Hope that the time goes by fast so your hubby can has his surgery and start to feel better!

Re: Diana Gabaldon, thank you for reminding me - I started Outlander before I moved and completely forgot about it! I actually met Diana at a Scottish fair where I bought the book!

I hope the upcoming week's wait isn't too hard on your husband -- sending best wishes. I wonder if they'll make a miniseries out of that book series -- sounds like it would make a good one!

I LOVE this book. One of my favourite reads of all time. Did you know they are working on a series? Not sure how they are going to pull that off, but if they do... it'll be amazing!

Hidey Ho??? Now that's funny I don't care who you are, said one funny bunny to another.
I've never heard of these books and now with your description I'm intrigued. Maybe a reading fling for me after Celebrate Oz has had it's way with me.
I am so sorry that your sweet hubby is having to "sit and wait" and be in pain. I was having a discussion with my hubby this morning about the domino effect of people's inability to convey basic information to one another.....like not telling your hubby how he was to prepare for his surgery. Errrrrr.
I hope that your taste of spring will keep you happy until the real thing pops up and gives you a lasting show of all things warmer and more colorful.
Take care my BB, S&S Oma Linda

I hope the time flies by for your Hubby Robin...being in pain is no fun at all, poor guy!

I will write this series down and try to get it at my local library...sounds like a wonderful read! :)

I too am suffering Spring Fever! I just can't wait to fling open doors and windows and go to town with cleaning and packing and getting moved at long last.

Hang in there Beautiful Ones!!!
You are loved by me! :)

Hi Robin, so sorry your husband's surgery was delayed for so long after that false start. Doesn't seem right... I have not heard of this series, but it sure sounds captivating and exciting. I may check it out during my down time these days, Ann

I am so sorry that your precious husband's surgery was postponed. I know it is so difficult to watch the ones you love suffer. It can be so heartbreaking it makes my stomach go all in knots.

These books sound intriguing and when I leave here I must go check them out. I LOVE period pieces, adventure and romance. This sounds like all the above. Take care of yourself and your sweet husband. Warmest hugs, Mina

Robin, I am so sorry, that your hubby isn't doing well! I don't know if I told you this before, but if his stomach, is acting up, tell him to lay down and take the palm of his hand (on his stomach) and do clock wise circular motions. It helps! Never the other way, it will make his stomach more upset. This might help him ;o)
This book series you are reading sounds very excellent!
Big Warm Hugs ;o)

Isn't it fun to revisit old (book) friends like you are?

Hoping Tuesday comes quickly and your husband is recovering before you know it!

Have a great day!

Someone recommended this book to me last year, I purchased it and then forgot to read it! So now, my interest is again peaked, I must go find that book... oh where did I bury it?! Thank you for visiting today, so nice to have a Robin in the Hollow.
