Monday Medley--Marigolds, Movies and Moping

Woe is me! We were supposed to be heading to the attorney's office today to turn over a check and receive a deed to the property. Unfortunately, red tape has tangled up, and there is a delay. Sigh. Hopefully one day this week, though. A bit of moping on my part.

So much going on in the national and world news. I just can't take it and am not going to read anything for the next few days. More moping.

Today is Remembrance Day at Syracuse University. 25 years ago this week, Flight 103 was blown up by terrorists. 260 people died in Lockerbie, Scotland, including 35 SU students. I have no words.

I think it is time to pull out my Halloween videos. Hocus Pocus, of course, and Johnny Depp's Sleepy Hollow.  Good escapist fare!

And now I am off to collect marigold seeds from the horrible looking containers on my deck. They actually make a very nice Halloween decoration, all brown and scraggly. But I want those seeds!

Have a safe and happy week!

So sorry to hear of the delay. Red tape! I hate the stuff! But positive thoughts! you will be sitting there this week receiving the deed in your hand. Visualize this down to the last detail. And in the mean time...Johnny Depp is always good company. :0)

The news has been dreadful, hasn't it? Sadly, a sign of the times. Sorry for the delay in signing your papers. I know how anxious you are, and I understand, but remember, 'all good things come to those who wait'. Good idea to lose oneself in fantasy for awhile.

Yes, lots going on in this little world of ours. Over here it seems murdering people is the latest fashion, they find bodies all over the country now?!

Have a great day watching those videos :-)

The world has been seeming a little....dull this past week or so. For multiple reasons and I don't blame you for not wanting to read anything about it.

I think its time to pull out our Halloween DVDs as well. My Most FAVORITE time of year has offically began!! :)

Have a good week...

Are you watching the new TV show called "Sleepy Hollow" on the Fox network? It has Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman back from the dead -- plus witches! It's not bad.

I have a rather large collection of b-style horror movies that I pull out when I am stressed. I cheer for the monster and laugh like crazy at the stupid lines the actors say, and the really bad acting.. great stress reliever.

Don't worry it will come to you in good time! As a friend tells me, patience grass hopper! May I also suggest Johnny Depp's movie "From Hell" The story of Icabod (sP) Crane.

I'm sorry for your red tape delay....bummer. And I quit watching the news months ago. It's too much for my old heart to take. And lastly.....marigolds are wonderful for all kinds of things ..... I never would have thought as decorations for Halloween though....hmmmmmm. I'm gonna have to have a thought about that. xoxo Oma Linda

Yes, I agree! Time for some fantasy! How about "The Witches of Eastwick?" Hope everything gets straightened out property-wise. It's pretty normal for a glitch or two. Good luck, Mary A

Me too, I rarely pay the news any mind. I figure the broadcast is always slanted to make it more dramatic and it is peppered with a lot of false reporting. Mercury in Retro must be winding up for it's stay but I am sure your tape will unwind before it hits.

Wishing you all the best with your new property! It's hard not to feel horrible, when all these things happen, but we have to keep going!! Hugs ;o)
