Our meteorologists here in Central New York are telling us we "dodged a bullet" as Hurricane Sandy turned inland in a location and lesser strength that eased its effects here. We had lots of wind, but very little rain, so far. More wind and rain is expected today. The power went out last night around ten'ish, so we all just went to bed. It was only out for a couple of hours, though, so there was coffee this morning, thank the Goddess!!
Our friends in New York City and New Jersey did not fare as well. Flooding and power outages, trees down and all kinds of damages. I hope to speak with a couple of my blog friends today, if they have power/phone service. My daughter texted last night that she was without power; she lives north of Albany, NY. I hope to talk with her too, today.
I am very thankful for our good luck here in the Syracuse area and send out wishes that everybody else affected by this storm are doing okay! Hopefully this will be it for weather-related problems!!!
I certainly have enough peanut butter and batteries to last a while!

Thanking the Great Lady that you are all safe!
I'm glad you weren't hit full-force. Hope it eases off today. And may I suggest . . . peanut butter cookies?
Glad to hear all is well. I am curious though. When you say you've had enough peanut butter and batteries, are you mixing them together?
I know exactly what you mean, Robin. They sent us all home early from work yesterday afternoon and closed our office today ~ so very grateful!!!
I am glad you are okay! We lost power on and off the entire night long, but not for long. The wind was horrifying!!! VERY scarey stuff!! I pray that your friends and family are fine.
Take care and Blessed Samhain to you!
Hugs,
Kim
glad to hear it didn't hit you hard. we've had 4 inches of rain. my roof is leaking....great! 3 more inches on the way but not nearly as bad as they predicted!
We've been blessed here to keep our electricity. About 8 pm last night it seemed it was ready to go, but thankfully, after dimming a few times, it stayed on. I'm feeling so terribly emotional today. Life here as truly changed in just one day.

Glad to hear that you fared well after Sandy shook up New York and New Jersey as well as brought snow to W Va etc.
Stay warm and well and I am joining you in hoping for the best for all those affected by this storm and it's aftermath. Oma Linda
So glad to hear that y'all weren't terribly affected by Sandy! I do hope your daughter is safe, warm, and dry!
Brightest Blessings!
Good to hear you're ok, I hope your daughter doesn't get affected by it too much. Sending light and love.

I'm so glad you're okay and your daughter is in my thoughts.
I'm so glad that You weren't hit that bad, we've gotten reports about how bad the situation is in some parts of NY.
Happy Halloween :-)
Christer.
It's always a strange feeling to dodge a bullet knowing the bullet went elsewhere and I always feel kind of selfish about it. But we shouldn't, no one can control nature. Hope you talk to your friends and daughter and find them well. Ann
Glad to hear you were spared the worst! Had to laugh about the coffee; part of our storm prep is always planning the coffee situation (french press or percolated coffee is how we go, and we even did some coarse grind Sunday night to be safe!
My friend, I hope your daughter is ok! I am happy the storm was easy on you! We had high winds and some broken tree branches, but, that was it! Lots of peanut butter, make some cookies ;o) Big Hugs ;o)
Thanks for the update, I was wondering how you were. This morning at 5 the moon was bright, sky was clear - it was all beautiful.
