I think about the thousands upon thousands in the US who have lost their jobs and their homes, the elderly barely getting by and who are alone, the people grieving for the loved ones they have lost and dreading Christmas without them. I think about 100,000 troops in harms way in Afghanistan, the suffering of millions around the globe due to the earthquakes, floodings, hurricanes, and other natural disasters. How paltry the anger at the use of a phrase seems.
A good thought would be if people could put less emphasis on spending, acquiring, overdoing at the holidays and think about serving others, volunteering time or money, being kind, offering a helping hand or a genuine smile, perhaps the real reason for the season would be realized.

Amen to that! Perhaps if we keep trying maybe others may listen. Hugs and sparkles - WG

Have a great day!
Christer.
Yeah, Amen. This year we have decided to forgo the presents and I swear I've never had a happier holiday.
Well said!! I went to the store today and noticed just how the people around me where so....uptight to the point of being mean. It made me sad. They really haven't got the true meaning of what this holiday is about. (no matter what their faith)
Thumbs Up to you, and Amen. You know how I feel, my dear. The reason for the Season. And being of another religion as I am find the whole season a competition of numbers from retailers, Black Friday numbers, etc.
What is the reason for the season???? Well put by Robin.......
