Dragonflies, Autumn Amber and Cats in a Bag

To the Feydragon methaphysical shop in Oswego NY (Website) last night for the monthly pagan social gathering. What a great evening! More people turning up each time. Chatting and laughing with like-minded people is a great experience, as well as a "pick-me-up"; talking openly in a relaxed atmosphere about all things pagan is a balm to the spirit. And look what some of us made:

Dragonflies! Out of those maple seed "helicopters", and twigs and even beads for eyes. We laughed so hard doing this craft, making fun of each other's attempts to hot-glue tiny beads onto the end of a itty bitty stick!

The U.S. Post Office made a delivery to my house yesterday. I confess to making a purchase on Etsy (Zantana Creations). But really, these little dishes are perfect for Autumn. The beautiful amber color just screams for apple crisp and pumpkin mousse, don't you agree? Sure you do!

Love the shape of the "cathedral" design

Okay. The above photo is one of the many attempts I made to capture a cute picture of the kittens peeking out of the top of this Halloween bag. (Wegman's reusable shopping bag). Kim at Witch Cats Blog is hosting a Halloween pet photo contest and I truly wanted to participate. 5-month old kittens have other ideas. Here, Pyewacket is zooming out of the bag, while Pixie is down inside giggling.

Speaking of kittens, I haven't posted on my other blog PurrrrSnicKitty in a while, but will be doing so today or tomorrow. These little cats are keeping me very occupied. And as you see from the above picture, my photo efforts leave much to be desired.

My little girl dog Gwennie had a rough day yesterday. Dental surgery to remove a couple of bad teeth, poor little thing. My vet said that Shelties are notorious for teeth trouble especially as they get older. She is 9 and 1/2 years old, so I guess that is true. She is doing fine today, just on a soft diet and antibiotics for the next 10 days. We have spent more time (and money!) at the vet in the last few months. And more to come, as soon, the kittens will be going for their, you know...."snipping" surgery, shhhhhh, don't tell them.

All for today. I have several other things to relate to you, but running out of time.

Bright blessings!!!

LOVE the dragonflies and those little glass dishes are gorgeous! Love the perfect autumn color. I see lots and lots of delicious desserts in those...

Having 4 cats and 3 dogs, I feel your pain about vet costs!! We told the boy dogs that they were going to get "teutered". Seemed a gentler word....

I absolutley LOVE dragonflies, I made them a while back with my Preschoolers (I am a teacher) and we made them out of dried rose petals and glow in the dark glue so they truly light up at night. It was a fun experiance and now I have beautiful dragonflies around my room.

I am New to your Blog and I find it lovely.

Blessed Be

Isn't it typical, cats can stay in a bag like that for hours and look cute but as soon as the camera shows they jump out :-) :-) :-)

Poor Lexie! Thankfully I've never had any teeth problems with any of my dogs, but I've heard that about Shelties too.

I really like those dragon flies! We call maple seeds for noses just because they can be attached to the nose if split where the seed is and we all do that as kids over here :-)

Have a great day!
Christer.

I LOVE those dragonflies! Must try and make some myself one day. And pumpkin mouse, sounds fabukous. I miss pumpkin pie so much. Ha ha! Your kittens made me laugh, I have many photos just like that one. Do hope your dog is fine soon, one of our cats had many teeth extracted and it took a few days before she was eating well. x

What a great idea for the dragonflies!! I'll have to remember that in the spring so my grands can make some.

I love your Amber Depression Glass Bowls...

Sorry to hear about Gwennie...poor girl! I bet she'll feel better now tho, eh?

Hope you are enjoying our Autumn Days...I know I sure am. It's turning cool here, quite cool but I love it, and keeping going out and then in, and out and then in. If it was the kids I'd be telling them to knock it off! Ha Ha Ha...

Take care Beautiful! :)

Cool shop! I see a few visits in my future to that website ~ LOL!

HA! The pic of the kittens is hilarious! Trust me, it doesn't get much easier getting kitties to pose when they become adult either. LOL!

Big hugs,

Beautiful dragonflies! Need to collect some seeds for the Grands to make some! :0)
Amber glass is one of my favorites...along with cranberry glass and ebony glass. A great find!
And it can be SO HARD to get Kitties to cooperate for photo shoots. Maybe one day Pye will be a camera-hog like Gomez.
Poor Gwennie. Sending healing thoughts her way. ♥

I say puuuuurrrrrrfect glassware for the season. And sorry to hear about the teeth issue. It's always something isn't it? I never knew Shelties had an issue with teeth, but then, I have never had a Sheltie - but have known a few very intelligent ones. Hope all goes well. Trying to catch a kitten in a photo is almost impossible! Ann

Hello Robin,
Your first paragraph is so interesting, your gathering sounds like it is a secret meeting, only talked about in hushed tones. The way of the pagan still seems almost unacceptable. I find it sad, the perception of Paganism. There is such a lack of understanding. I realised recently, I have been a pagan all my life, instinctively. It's only in the past few years I have embraced it, but I'm still careful of who I tell, sad really.

Anyway, your dragonflies are so sweet and those bowls to die for!

Thanks for stopping by.

The dishes remind me of Gramma's pink dessert dishes.
