My version of jaz's spargel with her recommended gouda |
My husband does not like asparagus. But he is out of town this week, and that gives me the opportunity to eat foods he won't touch with a 10-foot pole!! So my brother and I dined on Spargel last night. Asparagus, ham, gouda topped with a fried egg. Thanks so much to jaz for her wonderful German recipe. She has an incredible sidebar on her blog full of terrific recipes. And she always does great tutorials for each recipe. If you have never visited OctoberFarm, please do. And say hi to Teddy the magnificent wonder-Chow.
There was a knocking on my door yesterday which startled the heck out of me. It was the postal carrier!! With a beautifully packed box just for me, from the lovely Magic Love Crow blog (please click to go to the blog)

you spargel looks wonderful! glad you enjoyed the recipe!!!
I don't know who'll we'll meet but I adore Jaz. I don't even try to compete with her -- I go, I adore, I pay attention, I drool, I remain amazed that I've found her -- and, I have every intention of slipping up there in the dead of night and bringing Teddy home with me!
So, I tried this recipe and everyone fell in love (even with my version, so it's a keeper)! Come visit when you can.
Hubby doesn't do asparagus, so I envy the fact that you wee able to have some. I could fix it for myself, but I hate cooking for one. Your Spargel looks delicious!
And the painting is wonderful! Thanx for sharing! :0)
Congratulations on your win and the asparagus look so delicious. We love them here, so that is certainly something to try.
Have a wonderful day.
I am with your hubby. Cannot eat asparagus. Think it stems from being forced to eat it when I was a kid. That painting is wonderful, a real treasure.
