Autumn Fire

If the ground had frozen by now, stacking the monstrous load of firewood would be easier. Instead, the mud clings to ridged boots and the wheel of the barrow. The cold doesn't stop the trickles of sweat running into eyes. Gloves keep fingers warm and splinter-free. The logs are dry and seasoned, ready for the stove, where the crackle and popping will send a nervous dog up to her bed. The warmth of the fire will fill the house, first the lower level, slowly creeping up stairs and into the corners and cozies and nooks. Wood-smoke puffs out of the chimney, swirling and rising into the sky, into the blackness, into the night, taking with it our prayers and wishes. The Universe will grasp these wispy tendrils of requests, and answers will come.

Fire on a cold, late-autumn night does more than warm the bones and cheer the room. Fire is a sender and receiver of spells and dreams, hopes and ideas. Gather intention and release it in fire. Then watch the flames. What will you see?

Ah yes. Fire is most definately my favorite element! Try staring into the flame of a candle and concentrate all of your energy into it. It is sooo amazing to watch the flame go up and down with your will. Not to mention I LOVE candles!!! lol!!!!

Blessings,

Kim

Robin, I love this post! I felt like I was sitting in front of a fire! All nice and cozy! I love to watch flames! I even love watching a flame from a candle! How it dances and you can see so many images, it's amazing! I also love the smell of a wood fire! Nothing like it! Big Hugs My Friend ;o)

I've had a non-working fireplace in my home for 15 years now. On cold winter's nights, I've often longed to put it to use, but alas, it's closed off totally. But, it was a nice touch to the home anyway.

What a lovely post. Feel warm all over just reading your words.
Fire, being an Aries, is like Mother's milk....a necessary thing. I have been entranced by fire forever. Sending intentions into the universe....yes tonight was good for that.
Blessings my friend, Oma Linda

Beautifully written! Especially "The Universe will grasp these wispy tendrils of requests, and answers will come." Wonderful imagery.

What a beautiful post Robin. I could almost see and feel that comforting and warm fire. I love to scry by fire. I find it easier than scrying by water. must be because I love dragons.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful post.

Blessings, V.

I had the chimney sweeper here today so I can continue to have a fire in the stove :-)

Yes what would I see if looking in to the fire this chilly autumn evening? Well I better take a look now :-)

Happy Thanks Giving!

A very poetic post. :0)
Nothing quite like a fire to warm the heart and the hands! And to send our wishes forth.....

I love fire too. Although I love all the elements. My favorite element is air but it's difficult to pick just one. They all are so awesome! I do love watching fire. It can put you into a trance very easily. I think it also helps that the warmth makes me sleepy like a kitty. :3
