Merry Meet and Merry Part, and Merry Meet again

Monday Medley

This book by Dorothy Morrison is an enjoyable reference for learning about the traditions and origins of our Yule celebrations. It is filled with history, customs, craft ideas, recipes and a whole lot more. It is a favorite of mine. I very much like the writings of Dorothy Morrison and highly recommend her books.

The weather outside is not frightful! Mild temperatures are helpful for finishing up outdoor tasks, and getting our 5 little dwarf alberta spruce trees decorated with lights. The lack of snow has some people I know quite aggravated though, as they love snowmobiling and other snow activities. Frankly, the longer without the big snowfalls the better. Not such a fan anymore.

Good news! A target discharge date for my brother has been set for later this week. He will need home health care for a while, and will need to use a walker and wheel chair, but he has improved enough that he will be able to finally come home after more than six weeks in the hospital. Life will be very different for a while for all of us while he continues the healing process, but it will be such a relief to have him back home. Thank you all for your caring comments and healing thoughts during these last few weeks!

A tip from Dorothy Morrison's book Yule:  "Keep a bayberry candle burning. It not only keeps negative energy at bay, but draws money into the household."

Wishing you a super week. Stay safe and well!

Wonderful news about your brother! I do hope that his road to recovery continues to be free from any 'speed-bumps'.
Thanx for the tip on the book - I shall look for it. My Mother always kept a bayberry candle burning. I went looking for one yesterday, but couldn't find one. When the weather clears tomorrow, I'll shall resume my search.
Enjoy the warm temps for me - it was 4deg this morning here.

Your brother has made a wonderful recovery -- bet he can't wait to get home again! The hospital is a dreary place to be.

I'm so pleased to hear about your brother. Continued healing energy will be sent his way though. Lots of physical therapy and patience in store for him. Blessings on all of you.
We are expecting a huge snowstorm here today. School is cancelled and we are just waiting. I love snow, so long as I don't have to be out in it. Fudge and popcorn balls are on the menu today....come on over for a cuppa cocoa. XOXO my BB, Oma Linda

So glad to hear about your brother's recovery!!

I can't believe that picture of last year's snow. It's so mild here for this time of year, too, and I am not in a hurry for major heating time(bills) so I am grateful for the long Fall.

I have always wanted to read that book. I love the bayberry candle tip. Going to get one!!

That is so great that your brother is making progress and can come home - just winderful!!!

I love that book and reference it quite often! Along with the other sabbat series books written by various Pagan authors.

Blessings,

Kim

Great to read about Your brother getting better! Who cares if things will change for a while, the only important thing is that he still is with You and that he's getting better :-)

I wonder if that book can be found over here? I must check if it can, it sounds like a book I would like :-)

Have a great day!
Christer.

I'm glad to hear that your brother is returning home and I hope he makes as speedy a recovery as possible. I too am hoping for the snow to not start too soon. I still would like to have snow on Yule, even if I need to shovel it. It's just not Yule without snow.

We're very warm down here as well. Actually hit 61 today. Strange December we are having.

Yeh, I am so happy to hear about your brother ;o) What a nice gift to have him home! It's still green here too and raining! I just wish the rain would stop a bit! The ground is so soggy! I have to admit, I do love my snow ;o) But, I don't like driving in it! Big Hugs ;o)

Oh Robin, such wonderful news about your brother. He has had such a long road to travel.

Thank you for the book recommendation. We have only had a light flurry here but nothing to stick on the ground. Hugs to you.
